One of my all time favorites, Alice in Wonderland! A classic! Our little Sophia came into this world much quicker than expected. Alright, well maybe I was a bit more lax about the whole labor thing. That's what Remy would say!
One mississippi, two mississippi, three... Remy started counting for me once the first contraction hit. Finally the question in which I was wondering all this time, "What the hell does a contraction feel like?" Pain in your lower pelvis, both sides. Needless to say, that night I did not get much sleep, either did Mr. One Mississippi, two!
Wednesday I awoke with the same mild contractions. As I determined I would not be having the baby today, I decided to go into work to finish the "last minute" items prior to my maternity leave. I left work around 3:30 pm and by this point the contractions had become much more uncomfortable. At this point, I'm awaiting the 5-1-1. The RN's state that this is when to come to the hospital. When the contractions reach 5 minutes apart for a period of 1 minute consistenly over the course of 1 hour. Well, 5-1-1 hit me from 630 to 730. Any normal sain person would have exited the premises and hit the road. Not stubborn Season. I wanted to wait it out for Mom was on her flight to Orlando due to arrive in at 8:55. Surely, Sophia could wait for her Nonnie! To take the edge off, I told Remy that we should take a walk with Bruschi... BAD IDEA!!! If you are in labor, walking worsens the labor! I couldn't even make it around the block without gut wrenching, bend over, and freak my husband out "let me go get the car" pains! By the time I rolled back into the house, we.. well I called it quits and decided to go to the hospital! Had it been Remy's decision, we would have been at the hospital around noon.
Season, when are you going to wake up and smell the fact that you are in labor and need to get to the hospital? So 8:30, we are on the way. Well I decided to have Remy call my Mom to see if she got in early. Wouldn't you know it, she did. She had just landed! Pit stop to the airport, to pick up Mom. Remy is saying 'great, we are having Sophia in the Orlando Airport'.
As we pull up and around, dodging the security cats that wave you to keep on moving... screw you sir, I'm in labor can't you see! As Remy is on the phone with my Mom stating to get here quicker... she appears in the rearview mirror, running as fast as she can dragging her bag behind her. She hops in the car and off we go... again! Remy quickly updates Mom on the fact that I am having contractions every two minutes for about 45 seconds. HOLY COW!
You should see Remy, weaving in and out of traffic... Mom navigating from the rear (like she knew where she was going)! Any normal time I would be laughing or telling Remy to slow down, but at this point, I can't even see as my eyes are closed and I breathe. Before I know it, we are at the hospital, valet parking (smart hospital), and I'm in a wheel chair with people starring as if I'm going to have the baby right there! They navigate me down to triage, ok well, Remy tries to navigate me down to triage.... WALL!! BABY WALL!!! OOOWWWEE
Once the proper paperwork is filled out, blood pressure taken, and my mom quits giving the front desk lady the eye because she can not believe we have been in triage for 5 minutes, my daughter should be upstairs... they finally take me back to check me out! Thank Goodness... I'm going to get the drugs! I felt like a kid walking into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! Not so fast sister, the nurse looks at me and says "Oh wow, 8-9 CM, we need to get her hooked up fast and up to the delivery room". I couldn't help but think, who is she talking to? Another nurse comes in and starts hooking me up to IV's, monitors, they ask me to strip down, place the gown on, hop back in the wheelchair.. DO NOT let Remy drive!! All of a sudden I'm up in the delivery room. What the heck just happened? Remy looks at me and is like, "I did not sign in, am I supposed to be here?" I'm thinking where is Mom with all 50 of our bags?
Ah, the drug lady. Epi? Why yes please! Thinking back on it, I wish I would have not gotten one. I was way too far along and the only good it did was numb my legs (which you need while you push)! Once they put the epi in, my mid-wife came in and broke my water. Now I wondered what that would feel like as well... Nice and warm! As soon as this happened, I had the immediate need to push. Breathe in and push, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... breathe out, breathe in, push, 10, 9.... And so it went. Twenty minutes later and I began to wonder how much longer it was going to take? Apparently, they could see her full head of hair and it could be any push now! I'm feeling really tired at this point and some how the motivation is that some women go through this pushing for hours. Are you kidding me? Cheers to those in which do go through this type of delivery. I pushed for 45 minutes and thought it to be hours! As I got to the end and the motivation from the mid-wife, the nurse, Remy, and Mom increased; As Johnny Cash sings, I fell into the burning ring of fire. Yes, it is exactly as it sounds, the burning ring of fire! Three final pushs and it was over. A relief came over me and than I heard the most beautiful sound, my little Sophia crying!

Fully Baked
Well it's been quite some time since my last update. Well, my room is complete. You should see my closet!! I've had 3 baby showers.. count 'em! One in Maryland, one in Vermont, and one in Florida. I got love everywhere. I've been to NASCAR and the Circus.. yes, those were two separate trips. This beach thing is really cool, I think I'm gonna like it. Mom and Dad already have a beach tent for me. Get this, I've been INSIDE Dumbo at the Magic Kingdon. Mom barely fit, but I kicked her in. And my moms best friend Jen came to visit. Jen has a little something growing in her belly that'll become my best friend.
So the Doctor said that I'm fully baked... ready to come meet y'all! Although I kinda like it in here.. it's kinda just right. So I guess I'm just gonna suprise ya!
Mom says if I don't come by my due date that she is getting induced shortly thereafter. Daddy says he'll make an appointment for July 4th. Mommy is also shooting for me to not come any earlier than Tuesday night... apparently a very important Disney meeting.
This could very well be my last post until I arrive. Then mom and dad will have to take over the writing, as I'll probably be sleeping, crying and latching to the boob.
I'm ready to meet you! Are you ready to meet me.............

My foot....

Ok, so gotcha... this may not show you if I am a boy or a girl, but it is a great shot of my tiny little foot. Hope it's not webbed, like Daddy's. Mom's got my back though, we will get that stuff cut.
So needless to say, to all of those that kept accidentally calling me a "HE"...In your face! Cause I'm a SHE!!! You should have seen the shock on my Mommy and Daddy's faces. At first they thought they would be trying for a third time to have me, but looks like they could end up trying a third time for a boy. HA... Girls Rule, Boys Drool!
Well, here are the stats... I'm doing well. Growing as normal as I should be at week 19. I survived through Mommy's sickness, she is feeling better. I weigh a 1/2pound and my new due date is June 24th. Mommy has gained 14 pounds, but she tells me everyday that it feels like 30.
Now we get to start thinking about my name and nursery themes. Just for fun, what do you think about a nursery purple and gold? Check it out to the right ----->

Beautiful Sunday
I just went through my very first cold spell. Papi says that two weeks of straight cold here in Florida is still nothing compared to the cold of the North. This is the first weekend that everything was back to normal... Well kinda. See Mommy has been sick. We are still not sure what it was, but we believe it was strep. The doctors gave her some medication... I felt loopy!
We enjoyed the weekend. I got to see Avatar in the IMAX theater, my second movie (New Moon was my first... if you were wondering). I had my first experience with Thai food. That stuff is GOOD... Mommy, me and Bruschi went to watch Daddy play softball on Sunday... His team needs some help. He was pretty good though, at least I though so. We got back to the house and grilled out hot dogs with wings to watch the Colts beat up the Jets. The day was so nice, Mommy really was craving a cold beer. So Daddy went out an got her some O'Doul's (sorry Mommy)... made me burp. It was a great day of sun, fun, and sports.
Tuesday is a big day for Mommy and Daddy. They get to find out if I am a boy or a girl. I already know, but I've been making them sweat it out. I'm going to let the doc break the news, cause face it... I'm still working on my motor skills!

New Years and drive home
I celebrated this thing called New Years! Kinda.. Mommy and I went to bed around 10:30. Everyone kept talking about a ball dropping. I have no idea about this ball thing, but everyone was happy that 2010 was my year.
We packed it up and started our drive home on New Years Day. Although it's a long ride, driving looks fun! We stopped in Wilmington, NC at Paige and Mac's. Mommy and Daddy were very excited to see them and their new house. When they have a baby, I have a feeling I'll have my first best friend.
We finally landed home the next day. We all just bummed around on the couch and watched movies. It was funny that this was the longest I saw mommy and daddy sleep in a few weeks.
